2. Freelancing: If you have a skill such as writing, graphic design, web development, or marketing, freelancing can be a lucrative way to make money online. Websites like Upwork, Freelancer, and Fiverr connect businesses with freelancers, allowing you to offer your services on a project-by-project basis.

4. Online Courses and Coaching: If you have expertise in a particular field, consider creating and selling online courses or offering coaching services. Platforms like Teachable, Udemy, and Coursera allow you to reach a global audience and monetize your knowledge.

5. Dropshipping: This business model involves selling products without holding any inventory. You simply set up an online store, source products from suppliers, and fulfill orders as they come in. This allows you to focus on marketing and customer service without the hassle of managing inventory.

    Great post!

I’m a photographer and videographer and have been in business since 2014.

I specialise in weddings and branding and I’m based in Essex, U.K.

I had a baby 17 months ago and finding the juggle hard and definitely want to look into expanding my business online so I can manage everything.

I have looked into mentoring and have built 2 groups on Facebook.

I have a group of 500 photographers and I organise meet ups.

I have another group of 300 beginner photography business owners that want to learn.

I haven’t monetised any of it yet as the course industry space is so overwhelmed and I get the sense people are fatigued? Maybe I am.

Maybe I am just scared of being judged? Not feeling good enough and exhausted from parenting.

Do you think I should focus on YouTube or TikTok?

10 things I could do to start the mentoring side to the business:

1- Start another channel on TikTok or YouTube and create good content about learning photography/business

2- Set up paid meet ups/photo workshops

3- I have a lot of parents and children attend my photo meet ups so would love to do some content for that audience.

4- Film and edit an evergreen course that can be bought on my website. Title could be: How to set up your photography business

5- Film more content of me working with real clients to show students what happens.

I would love any more ideas you have on how I could get this all set up and ready to launch!

I’m scared to do it because of imposter syndrome but I do love helping people and it’s my passion in life.

    Thank you Simon 🙂

My photography business is Charly Mae Photography on Instagram!

Hello Simon! Thank you for this video and your enthusiasm! I wonder if there is any need for plus size travel bloggers. My husband and I are both people of size and we are currently photographers we would love to be able to travel and combined writing with photography. What are your thoughts on something like that?

Hi mate. I create content online for fun, I can’t promote like you said but I’m on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. People seem to like my content (not a huge amount of followers as I’ve only just started) but I’m not sure how to grow it into something that could potentially make me an income. I’ve been a software developer for nearly 20 years (job title has changed 3 times in those years but it’s the same job) and I think AI will probably make me redundant eventually. So I’m trying to anticipate that change coming, and also kind of bored with my job now too as I’ve done it for too long. I’m not looking to become a millionaire, if it happens then great, but my main aim at the moment is to get an income from it and this is where I’m stuck. Just interested in your thoughts on this. Thanks for reading my comment. All the best. Nikos.

I want to help small mom & pop business which usually do not have much money or know how to market digitally. Which alot of marketers are ignoring but my thought is to ask for percentage of the growth I will get them and some monthly amount they can afford. I have been looking for automation/simlified solutions for most of the tasks and found some but they charge alot and then there is hiring VAs to do these tasks. Really the most important online exposure to start with is a website, social media accounts, generate and market reviews and an Optimized Google Business Profile…only cost is time. And when the business grows then get into paid ads and other stuff that will cost money. My stuck point is how to keep track/prove that I am the cause of the growth in business. How to keep owners honest and pay me. What percentage do you think should I ask for? Is this a good business idea or not?

Wish i had my bills covered to start a youtube channel creating children's storys. using chat gpt to create beautiful children's short stories, using midjourney to create the artword and a script to voice app to create the audio. Then using photoshop scrolling text. Boom you have a beautiful childs story video in just a couple of hours. Would also have a app later so people can download the stories or subscribe for unlimited downloads.

    Hi Simon.

I am really interested in the Social Media Data Analysis agency idea.

I have spent maybe 1.5 – 2 hours putting together my 12 point plan.

It would be really good to hear from you and discuss it and iron out the business plan.

    1. Who is the target market for the service – medium sized social media pages and YouTube channels (100k – 500k) followers or subscribers.

    2. Think of what benefits can these people gain from using our service:

    – Increased engagement: Our data analytics service can help clients understand what type of content their audience engages with the most, allowing them to create more of it and increase engagement.

    – Higher views: By identifying the type of content that performs the best, clients can create more engaging videos that are more likely to be shared and viewed by a wider audience.

    – More subscribers: By understanding their audience better, clients can create content that appeals to their existing subscribers while also attracting new ones.

    – Improved content strategy: Our data analytics service can help clients develop a more effective content strategy, ensuring that their social media pages and YouTube channels are aligned with their business goals.

    – Increased revenue from sponsors: By providing detailed insights into the performance of sponsored content, clients can better demonstrate the value of their partnership with brands and attract more sponsors.

    – Improved ad revenue: By optimising content for engagement and views, clients can attract more advertisers and increase revenue from ads.

    – Better audience insights: Our data analytics service can provide clients with detailed insights into their audience, including demographics, interests, and behaviours.

    – More efficient social media management: By identifying the most effective social media platforms and content types, clients can streamline their social media management efforts and save time.

    – More effective influencer marketing: By identifying influencers who have a similar audience and content strategy, clients can create more effective influencer marketing campaigns.

    – Greater brand awareness: By creating engaging and shareable content, clients can increase brand awareness and build a loyal following of fans and followers.

    3. Pricing of the service: This could either be a flat monthly rate, percentage of revenue or a hybrid of the both.

Flat rate depending on the number of platforms and overall number of followers/ subscribers.
    – Sliding scale from $1000 – $5000 per month

    – Percentage of increased revenue, charged at 30% per month above agreed baseline.

    – $1000 for the first month followed by 30% increased revenue above agreed baseline.

    4. What is a business name that would resonate with them? Here are some ideas:

    – SocialScope Analytics

    – ViewBoost Insights

    – ReachRight Analytics

    – InsightHive Analytics

    – EngageMetrics

    – FollowerFuel Analytics

    5. Create logo and brand details for the chosen business name.

    6. Create a website with information regarding how the service can benefit the visitor and a CTA to a form for lead and data/ information capture.

    7. Either manually, or with existing scraping technology, find and export data of the pages and channels that could be potential clients

    8. Set up business social channels so that that profile can reach out and DM the prospects with offering our service. Also email the contacts if that information can be found

    9. Use Social Ads to advertised the service to the target audience.

    10. Qualify leads with 15 minute discovery call to discuss the information that has currently been supplied and what we can do to assist them.

    11. Get the Sale and process the order by doing the analysis work myself or outsourcing.

    12. Go again!

    Thanks, James

Hi Simon I'm trying to start a business where I help young people/children to learn tools to manage their own stress/anxiety and big emotions.. I ran a free pilot in a school earlier this year which went well but now I am contacting schools and asking them to pay for this service they are lacking funding..
I believe this could be a huge benefit and an answer to the growing mental health crisis among young people. I teach them holistic skills such as meditation and tapping. I would be so grateful for any help you could give me or just advice on how to fund this project. Thank you
