4 Essential Guidelines for Successfully Flipping Affordable and Luxury Watches

Watch flipping, also known as buying and selling watches for profit, has become a popular hobby and side hustle for many watch enthusiasts. Whether you are looking to make some extra cash or simply enjoy the thrill of the hunt, there are a few important rules to keep in mind when flipping watches, especially when dealing with both affordable and luxury timepieces.

Rule 1: Do Your Research

Before diving into the world of watch flipping, it is crucial to do your research. This includes familiarizing yourself with different watch brands, models, and market prices. Understanding the value of a watch will help you make informed decisions when buying and selling. Additionally, research the condition and authenticity of the watches you are interested in to avoid costly mistakes.

Rule 2: Buy Low, Sell High

The key to successful watch flipping is to buy low and sell high. Look for deals on pre-owned watches, auctions, or estate sales where you can snag a watch at a discounted price. When selling, aim to price your watch competitively to attract buyers while still making a profit. Remember, patience is key when it comes to flipping watches – wait for the right opportunity to buy and sell for maximum returns.

Rule 3: Invest in Quality

When flipping watches, it is important to invest in quality timepieces. This includes both affordable and luxury watches that are in good condition and have a strong resale value. Avoid watches that are heavily worn, damaged, or have questionable authenticity. By focusing on quality watches, you can build a reputation as a trustworthy seller and attract repeat customers.

Rule 4: Build Relationships

Building relationships with other watch enthusiasts, dealers, and collectors can be invaluable in the world of watch flipping. Networking can help you find new watch deals, gain insights into market trends, and establish a loyal customer base. Additionally, joining watch forums, attending watch events, and interacting with other watch flippers can provide valuable knowledge and support throughout your flipping journey.

In conclusion, watch flipping can be a rewarding and profitable endeavor if done carefully and strategically. By following these important rules – researching, buying low, selling high, investing in quality, and building relationships – you can navigate the world of watch flipping with confidence and success. Whether you are flipping affordable watches or luxury timepieces, always remember to have fun and enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

Listen, you should never look for a buyer. Make that buyer look for you. There's always money to be made on everything of value. The exception precious metals.

Hi Chris, I learned tomething when when I was studying for for my real estate license which applies for most purchases. We gain or lose on the front end. Example, I just purchased a GS sbgm221. If I would have paid retail or more for it I can never recoup that extra money that I paid. TIt applies even to Rolex or other desirable watches. Yes, we may make money at the sale but if we paid $1000 more then it's worth that money is gone forever. Love your videos.

A return after 4 months is bs, i understand that you want a good reputation, but do you want a reputation of being a mug or a reputation of being firm but fair?

Many thanks, really interesting. That return policy, is that only new or expensive watches? What about vintage watches with no history, or cheap £100 old watches?

What if I’m not buying the watch? What if I’m selling the watch to another business or person? While it’s still in the ownership of another business? Basically just bring the middleman and taking the profit off the top, the listed price for the dealership likely is already profiting if so they’ll usually don’t mind if you can get a sale off on a piece that they’d been wanting to get sell, for instance I’m currently selling a 1976 Day date 18038, the dealer price is 13,950, I’m offering to sell it for 14,200, the highest end usually sells for 14,950 so this leaves potential profit for whoever buys and sells the piece.

Man guck dude!! I wanted a side hustle but after watching this… I remember when I was in 6th grade I had a brother best friend. He was my only friend everyone else was bullies. But we had each other's backs!!! I remember he had this really cool camo g shock watch!!! I always asked him if I could have it and he never gave it to me. One day he came to school with a brand new watch!!! He gave me his old watch which I thought was the coolest!!! My brother passed away and someone stole the watch. This video helped me find that exact same watch!!! I'm ordering one as soon as I get paid!! Thank you!!

Great video! I fully agree with everything you said, except one thing: i do not agree with the fact that you need to accept the return of a watch someone bought from you after 4 MONTHS. Longest scenario can be 1 week, because common, it’s not necessary for you to wear a watch for 4 months in order to “get used to it” that’s bs for me. If someone would come to me after 3 or 4 months and wants his money back, i would tell him that i’ll buy it for 50-70 cents on the dollar, especially if it’s in bad condition, or not in the exact same condition as i sold it to him. And this is the case if a watch is worth up to 10k. If we are talking about APs or high end rolex models, like some day dates, or daytona’s, which are in a market that changes daily, clearly not….other than that, keep up the good work and stay safe!

Do you think it is a good idea to buy a $1,000 watch and try to sell it through my FB and IG account to any contact for $1,100? Small profit but if it works I can start buying more of these and repeat the cycle.

    Thanks.

This happened to me also. But eBay sent the buyer the money for the watch that I was selling him. And the buyer sent me a broken ladies watch back. So he got my money and my Ferrari watch!! and I walked away with nothing and eBay didn’t help very frustrating!
