5-Year Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) Specifically for Digital Nomads: Mike Abroad

As the lifestyle of digital nomads continues to gain popularity, more and more countries are recognizing the potential benefits of attracting this group of remote workers. Thailand, a country known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, and affordable cost of living, has recently introduced a new visa option specifically designed for digital nomads – the 5-Year DTV Visa.

The Destination Thailand Visa, or DTV Visa, is a long-term visa that allows digital nomads to live and work in Thailand for up to 5 years. This new visa option is part of Thailand’s efforts to attract more digital nomads and remote workers to the country, as well as to boost the local economy and promote tourism.

The DTV Visa comes with a range of benefits for digital nomads, including the ability to work remotely from Thailand without the need for a work permit, access to local healthcare services, and the option to apply for a Thai bank account. In addition, holders of the DTV Visa can also bring their family members to live with them in Thailand.

To be eligible for the DTV Visa, applicants must meet certain criteria, such as having a minimum monthly income of at least $2,000, proof of health insurance coverage, and a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining.

Mike Abroad, a well-known digital nomad and travel blogger, has already expressed his excitement about the new 5-Year DTV Visa for Thailand. In a recent blog post, he praised the Thai government for taking steps to make it easier for remote workers to live and work in the country.

“I’m thrilled about the new DTV Visa option in Thailand,” Mike wrote. “It’s a game-changer for digital nomads like myself who want to experience everything that Thailand has to offer while still being able to work remotely. I can’t wait to explore more of this amazing country and immerse myself in the local culture.”

Overall, the introduction of the 5-Year DTV Visa is a positive development for digital nomads looking to make Thailand their home base. With its stunning scenery, friendly locals, and thriving expat community, Thailand is an ideal destination for remote workers seeking a work-life balance in a tropical paradise.

I'll be booking my trip soon based on this! Does anyone know if the digital nomad visa is electronic or do we still get it in our passports? Are our passports still stamped on arrival? I ask since I particularly like keeping a record of my travels.

So I cn use it to learn Thai and also I am looking at wring a book so I will get this visa for that. So I should be able to do 180 days leave for a few days and come back for another 180 days and do this for 5 years as it is a multi entry visa. Then at the end of the 5 years do it all over again. I hear people saying you can only do 180 days in 5 years which is nonsense as that would make no sense as it's a Multi- Entry Visa,

Is it possible to become tax resident with this visa ? Because it's 183 days in Thailand to become tax resident. It would be great alternatives to thai privilege visa.

You don't need a nomad visa in the Philippines. You can just extend your tourist visa for 3 years and foreign sourced income isn't taxed. If the DTV allows me to stay year round, then I'll be back in Thailand!
