A Day in the Life of a Digital Nomad in Split, Croatia: Embracing the Laptop Lifestyle

Digital nomads are individuals who have embraced a lifestyle that allows them to work from anywhere in the world, as long as they have a laptop and an internet connection. One popular destination for digital nomads is Croatia, with its stunning beaches, picturesque cities, and warm Mediterranean climate. Split, Croatia, in particular, is a favorite among those who value a peaceful yet vibrant setting for their work.

A day in the life of a digital nomad in Split typically begins with waking up to the sounds of seagulls and the smell of freshly brewed coffee. The digital nomad might start their day by taking a leisurely stroll along the waterfront promenade, known as the Riva, to clear their mind and soak in the beauty of the Adriatic Sea.

After a relaxing morning, it’s time to get down to work. Many digital nomads in Split choose to work from co-working spaces or cafes that offer fast and reliable internet access. One popular spot is the Hub385 co-working space, located in the heart of Split’s Old Town. Here, digital nomads can connect with like-minded individuals, attend networking events, and collaborate on projects in a professional setting.

Throughout the day, the digital nomad might take breaks to enjoy the local cuisine. Split is known for its fresh seafood, delicious pastries, and the mouth-watering Dalmatian prosciutto. They might also take a break to explore the city’s ancient architecture, such as the Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

In the afternoon, the digital nomad might head to one of the nearby beaches, such as Bacvice Beach, to relax and unwind after a day of work. They might take a swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea or simply soak up the sun while catching up on emails.

Loved this! I would add though, as a POC, I found croatia racist, I had too many instances that made me feel unsafe there. I don't think they are used to seeing POC there.
