Account Recovery Process for Amazon FBA Seller Central with Two-Step Verification

Losing access to your OTP (One-Time Password) for two-step verification can be a frustrating experience, especially when it happens to your Amazon FBA Seller Central account. Two-step verification adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring you to enter a unique code sent to your phone or email in addition to your password when logging in. However, if you lose access to your OTP, recovering your account can be a challenge. Here are some steps you can take to regain access to your Amazon FBA Seller Central account if you’ve lost your OTP.

The first thing you should do is try to recall where you might have saved your OTP. Check your email or text messages for any recent security codes that may have been sent to you. Sometimes, these codes are saved automatically in your inbox or message history.

If you still can’t find your OTP, the next step is to contact Amazon’s customer support for assistance. You can do this by visiting the Amazon Seller Central website and clicking on the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of the page. From there, you can choose to either chat with a customer support representative or request that they call you.

When speaking with a customer support representative, explain that you have lost access to your OTP for two-step verification and ask for assistance in recovering your account. You may be asked to verify your identity by providing personal information such as your name, address, and email address associated with your account.

In some cases, Amazon may ask you to provide additional proof of identity to ensure that you are the rightful owner of the account. This could include verifying a credit card or bank account linked to your account, providing a recent purchase history, or answering security questions that only you would know the answers to.

If all else fails, Amazon may ask you to reset your account password in order to regain access. You can do this by clicking on the “Forgot your password?” link on the login page and following the prompts to reset your password. Once you have a new password, you should be able to log in to your account without needing the OTP.

It’s important to remember to keep your OTP secure in the future by saving it in a safe place or using a password manager to store it. Additionally, consider setting up backup methods for two-step verification, such as using an authenticator app that generates codes even when you are offline.

Losing your OTP for two-step verification can be a hassle, but by following these steps and reaching out to Amazon’s customer support, you should be able to recover your account and resume selling on Amazon FBA Seller Central. Remember to stay vigilant about protecting your account information and keeping your security measures up to date to prevent future issues with OTP access.

I managed to resolve the infuriating situation of being unable to log in to my account due to Amazon's negligence, and I'd like to share it here.

First, let me say that this solution might only work for the Japanese marketplace.

The solution is to email Jasper Cheung, the President of Amazon Japan G.K.

Despite repeatedly contacting account specialists and customer service, uploading identification documents, and trying various methods, nothing was resolved even after a month. However, after emailing Jasper Cheung, I was able to access my account in just two days.

    I wish everyone good luck.

Got an email from amazon to update my credit card. Tried to log in and couldn't cause my password was reset. I followed the 1st step and reset my password. But cant completely reset my password with 2nd step OTP code since i changed my phone and old number.
I followed the whole process to have amazon bypass the 2nd step OTP. Attached my drivers lic. For verification. And did this already like 5 times and still nothing. I haven't been able to get access to my Seller Central account for the past 2 months and i still haven't got anything back yet with any help resetting my password to gain access to my account. This is starting to be a nightmare with them. I don't know how else to get help from.

I would think that one tech support person could resolve 100's of these issues in a day, if not 1000's, especially when you consider that these are all people who want to spend money!
But having to wait 2 weeks, or a month one person posted here, is ineptitude, unacceptable!
    Guess I'll have to wait………………………

I've been there done that, been 2 weeks and no response from amazon, I called last week and they told me to send the ID again, so I did, but still no reply, meanwhile I cant login to amazon at all, I have a bunch of subscribe and save items that I cant manage, I have a subscription to HBO I cant watch, my business orders all sorts of things from amazon, I have diabetic medical supplies I get from amazon.
I called again today and was told they cant even stop the subscriptions on my behalf.
The thing that I dont get, is that most sites with 2 step, have secondary methods, which technically I suppose is what this send your ID in is, but if they dont reply, apparently you're just screwed.
