Are Amazon FBA “experts” full of lies and deception?

Title: Amazon FBA Gurus: Exposing the Truth Behind the Lies

Introduction:

The Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) program has gained immense popularity over recent years, attracting entrepreneurs seeking to tap into the lucrative e-commerce marketplace. Amidst this growing trend, a new breed of self-proclaimed Amazon FBA gurus has emerged. These individuals, often seen as industry experts, promise to unlock the secrets of success and financial freedom. However, a closer look reveals that many of these so-called gurus are nothing more than blatant liars.

False Promises and Misleading Claims:

Amazon FBA gurus typically attract aspiring sellers with bold claims of quick riches and the perfect formula for success. They promise effortless wealth, minimal investment, and fast results without highlighting the countless hours of hard work and dedication required. These gurus often employ flashy marketing tactics, showcasing luxury lifestyles and exotic locations to entice individuals into their programs.

Manipulative Pricing Strategies:

Once potential sellers are lured into their web of deceit, these gurus introduce their overpriced and underwhelming courses or mentorship programs. Some even charge exorbitant fees for access to fragmented and outdated information that can easily be found for free online. In essence, these gurus are profiting from the dreams and aspirations of those who are genuinely seeking guidance.

Minimal Experience and Lack of Credentials:

Many of these self-proclaimed gurus have limited or no hands-on experience with the Amazon FBA program. They often make exaggerated claims about their own results while concealing the fact that they have rarely stepped into the shoes of a successful Amazon seller themselves. Their lack of authenticity and expertise becomes evident when they fail to offer any substantial evidence of their alleged success.

Misrepresentation of the Amazon FBA Landscape:

Amazon FBA gurus tend to bypass the complexities and challenges of the Amazon marketplace. They brush over important details such as steep competition, constantly changing algorithms, high fees, strict regulations, and potential pitfalls. By doing so, they set unrealistic expectations for new sellers, leading to frustration and disappointment.

The Cost of Blindly Trusting Gurus:

Trusting these “gurus” can prove to be not only financially draining but also detrimental to one’s entrepreneurial journey. Many aspiring sellers lose significant amounts of money by investing in underperforming products, falling for scams, or blindly following misguided advice. The damage caused by these deceitful gurus can extend beyond just financial loss, often leading to shattered dreams and demoralized individuals.

Redefining Success:

It is crucial for aspiring Amazon sellers to distinguish between these self-proclaimed gurus and genuine mentors who can offer valuable guidance based on credible experience. Instead of relying on flashy marketing and false promises, individuals should focus on building a solid foundation of knowledge by conducting thorough research, attending reputable e-commerce conferences, and engaging with successful sellers who share their experiences transparently.

Conclusion:

The realm of Amazon FBA gurus is marred by deception, false promises, and exploitative tactics. To avoid falling victim to their lies, potential sellers must be critical and discerning, seeking the truth beneath the surface of enticing marketing strategies. The journey of establishing a successful Amazon FBA business requires hard work, perseverance, and a realistic understanding of the challenges involved. By relying on credible resources and personal dedication, individuals can chart their own path to success, free from the manipulative clutches of these dishonest gurus.

All these idiots claiming 40% margins are full of crap. I aim for a 10% margin. Nothing wrong with earning 10% just sell more shit.

Law 42/48. Strike the shepherd and the sheep will follow.
Theres been. Boom in past 3 years with these gurus since the rona. And they make people feel bad about their poor helpless state to sell their ideology.
One particular guy catching my attention past few months is a guy named Shahid Anwar who taunts people as poor and peasants in his language. Then miraculously has haters and shows off wealth.

It would have been helpful to have had this labeled as Honest PL FBA. Even though what you mention could apply to both PL and RA, it seemed you were mostly refering to PL w/a mix of other types of selling. Most new sellers are not going to get into PL (mabye a few). We do RA and OL. So we dont create listings, we dont need graphic designers or PPC. The guru's for PL and their pitch just blows your mind, but then again the ones pitching courses for RA/OL are as bad as well. Now the ones you spoke about mentioning reviews (Crescent Cao), he was referring to RA/OA, not PL. Maybe he does do some PL (no clue), but Ive watched a lof of this videos and he talks about how high reviews tells you that seller is possibly a wholesaler or could have a contractural agreement w/the brand. It lets us new sellers know what to look for and not follow the store w/thousands of reviews. You wont be able to get that product at a low enough price to sell. Many seasoned sellers mention this as well. I hate the wording "winning products". Not sure who came up w/that line, but its cringe. Bottom line is you do have to be careful. I actually took a course that was under $100 and dont regret it at all. We were told to spend money on products not expensive courses. Many fellow sellers who I had the class w/stated they fell for it and paid $2,000+ for courses that they didnt really teach them anything. Others are said the info provided saved them from buying an expenseive course. I know of a course selling around $4,000. Its crazy! I was disappointed in that one.

Great post! Good information, and good on touching most important subjects, and debunks some myths. For all new sellers, your net profit is going to be around 20% net in most cases. It is a very basic calculation. 100% – 30% COGS – 33% Amazon Fee – 30% ACOS.

Yeah I’ve seen a lot of free courses. As soon as they try to sell their course i bounce. But I did learn from the idea to go my own way. It’s not easy but not unachievable . It takes time money and hard work. It’s not instacash with a push of a button

Moral of the story is as always: if it seems too good to be true. It probably is. Nothing is easy and quick. The quickest way to breakeven and earn your first dollar in profit would be 2 yrs give or take depends on the experience.

I signed Up for this company called amazing that's supposed to teach me all about Amazon I just didn't buy what all they were saying but the first month I was supposed to get it free so they tell me as long as I cancel by the 20th I didn't have to pay for the 199.00 a month so I canceled the 19th and they still charged me and at first they told me they're gonna give me my money back but then they changed their mind and said since they weren't open when I canceled even though I canceled the 19th they wouldn't give me my money back now. I am fighting with them about it through my credit card company now I disputed the charge. They are thieves!!!!

Another big fat lie is that you only have the option of private label. It’s easier to buy brand name products wholesale and sell retail. Also cuts back on marketing.
