How I Manage my Time with Full-Time Job, Freelance, and Side Hustles ☕️
In today’s fast-paced world, juggling multiple commitments has become a common challenge for many. With the increasing popularity of side hustles and freelance opportunities, managing one’s time effectively has become essential. As someone who has a full-time job, freelance work, and side hustles, I have learned a few valuable strategies for balancing these various commitments.
The first and most crucial step in managing my time effectively is to prioritize. With multiple responsibilities, it’s important to identify which tasks require immediate attention and which can be tackled later. I often use a to-do list or schedule to keep track of my tasks and deadlines. This helps me stay organized and ensures that I don’t miss any important deadlines. By prioritizing my work, I can allocate the right amount of time to each task, reducing the chances of feeling overwhelmed or burned out.
Another aspect of time management is being realistic about the amount of time I can dedicate to each commitment. It’s crucial to estimate the time required for each project or task and plan accordingly. This involves setting achievable goals and deadlines, considering potential roadblocks or delays, and allowing some flexibility in the schedule. Being realistic and setting achievable goals not only helps reduce stress but also increases productivity.
To optimize my time management, I also aim to create a consistent routine. By establishing a routine, I can save time on decision-making and create a harmonious balance between my different commitments. Whether it’s dedicating specific days or hours for freelance work, side hustles, or my full-time job, having a routine ensures that I allocate enough time for each activity. It also helps in effectively managing other aspects of life, such as personal relationships, hobbies, and self-care.
One of the challenges in managing multiple commitments is avoiding burnout. To combat this, it’s crucial to set aside time for self-care. Taking breaks, engaging in activities that bring joy and relaxation, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance is vital. While it’s tempting to constantly strive for more, it’s essential to recognize when to step back and recharge. By prioritizing self-care, I can maintain my motivation, creativity, and overall well-being.
Finally, communication plays a significant role in managing time effectively. It’s important to communicate with clients, colleagues, and individuals involved in my side hustles about my availability and deadlines. Setting clear expectations upfront helps in avoiding last-minute surprises or conflicts. By effectively communicating my workload and commitments, I can establish a sense of reliability and professionalism, ensuring a smoother workflow.
In conclusion, managing a full-time job, freelance work, and side hustles requires deliberate planning, organization, and self-discipline. By prioritizing tasks, setting achievable goals, establishing routines, prioritizing self-care, and effectively communicating, I am able to strike a balance between my various commitments. Though it can certainly be challenging at times, successfully managing multiple responsibilities brings a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment in both personal and professional spheres. So, whether you enjoy a full-time job, freelance work, or side hustles, implementing these strategies can help you navigate your multifaceted life with ease.

Thank you so much Rachy for this insightful information
Great techniques! Thanks for sharing
thank you so much for sharing this
Thank you so much for this channel and for this video! I tend to feel over-ambitious and take on way too much at one time that I feel so overwhelmed and end up spinning. This video really helped me to see that I can take things in small bites and still accomplish all my (reasonable) goals. Thanks, Rachel!
thank you!
@Rachelhow I just want to say that your videos have helped me and inspired me as well. the first video I watched was very insightful and I felt your genuine vibe of wanting to help other people. and this is the second video which felt like it had to be destiny. I see tons of videos and I really don't subscribe to a lot of channels, but I did with you so that says a lot. keep up the good work.
Done is better than perfect. I absolutely love it !
i really resonate with the idea of cutting things out that drain our energy. I find that the things that drain my energy (social media, junk food, low quality friends, negative music, pornography, etc) also drain my time and make me less efficient when working towards my goals, and thus I end up also wasting more time. will work on cutting these things out of my life day by day, thank you
Just in time learning and done is better than perfect best advice for me right now
Your videos are always such a pleasure to watch. Do you have a favorite program or process to edit?
Love the video
0:40 well u don’t commute if u work remote lol
Thank you
Rachel, I have been following you since you started Youtube and honestly love the development of your editing and also the valuable insight into your life. So helpful and thanks for being here for us!!! You inspired me to dive into UX. <3
Just discovered you from a spline tutorial! You seem incredible sharp and capable i look forward to learning from you more! Thank you for your wonderful work.
I also will be reaching out for some freelance partnership opportunities!
I love your editing! How did you get that paper effect in your video?
Yep, I have been working full time, doing a side hustle and also studying. You really have to give up on mindless entertainment, schedule your time with breaks in between, and get into that flow when you sit down to complete a task (not waiting until motivation comes).
But idk if people who do this sacrifice their social life though. I pretty much just work and rest. Rarely do I hang out and chill with people
Great tips! I was just wondering if we can see the breakdown of how you organize your daily routine when you still work fulltime plus the freelance and side hustle?
Can you please suggest where you follow up your principles from .how did you learn about them? Books that you can suggest may be. Thanks
wow 1 minute in and i subscribed
Amazing content, thank you so much. One of the few videos I'll need to watch back again. And 15k likes, 0 dislikes wow
This is useful info. Have been working to schedule the tasks on the calendar more than having a to do list.
Thank you for Insight
Thanks for sharing your tips. I find that I've been doing a lot of what you've said they're helping me too.
Oh my god, i just knew you are a Malaysian! So happy to stumble my fellow Malaysian channel. I am putting efforts to achieve like what you are doing now. By the way, you got a new subscriber!
Rachel is a workaholic.
Great video! Thank you for sharing freely. Hopefully ‘ChatGPT’ is a better alternative for your new learnings than Google. It’s free too.
I did made an attempt on creating a project on ‘How to systematically manage time for side hustles along with your full-time job’ it’s not easy, mainly the time, motivation and energy or enthusiasm for it.
Setting up a realistic goal based on your situation and available time is one approach I found.
But you had lot more tips in this video, which I will try to apply. Like the non-negotiable goals and time it needs for planning and saying NO to distracting things and staying ‘disciplined’ on energy consuming TV and entertainments.
its super helpful. Thank you !
Isn't it crazy that I feel truly inspired by you ? Everytime a video of yours pops up, i end my procrastination, you remind me of what's really important in a career development, like the having something done is better than perfect. I have a project that I abandoned for so long, just because I'm not too confident it will end up nicely enough to deserve a glance by a an employee. But when I listen to you, all i want to do in that day is to finish my task. Plus I began to learn to work on webflow and I also want to use Blender in the future. It all takes time and focus. Oh I forgot to mention I also work 8 h on a job that doesn't bring me value to my designer path. I feel demotivated and drain by all the chaos present at work. I'm more of an idea person and sometimes I lack organize skills. You inspire me so much !
In short terms, i really appreciate what you do for us, the quality content you bring and the encouragement you assure. Keep up the work! I'm glad I'm your subscriber !
