Flank Steak Cooking Tips and Delicious Flank Steak Taco Recipe

Flank steak is a delicious cut of beef that is perfect for making tacos. Known for its robust flavor and slightly chewy texture, flank steak is a versatile protein that can be seasoned and cooked in a variety of ways. In this article, we will explore how to cook flank steak and turn it into mouth-watering tacos.

To begin, start by selecting a good quality flank steak from your local butcher or grocery store. Look for a steak that is marbled with fat and has a bright red color. It’s important to choose a steak that is about an inch thick for optimal tenderness and flavor.

Before cooking the flank steak, you will want to marinate it to enhance its flavor. To make a simple marinade, combine olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, lime juice, and your choice of seasonings (such as cumin, paprika, and chili powder) in a mixing bowl. Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the steak. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least one hour, but preferably overnight to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.

When you are ready to cook the flank steak, preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels. Season the steak with salt and pepper on both sides before placing it on the grill or skillet. Cook the steak for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer your steak more well-done. Once cooked to your desired level of doneness, transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

Now that your flank steak is cooked and sliced, it’s time to assemble your tacos. To make flank steak tacos, warm up some corn or flour tortillas on the grill or stovetop. Fill each tortilla with a generous portion of sliced flank steak, and top with your favorite taco toppings such as diced onions, cilantro, avocado, salsa, and a squeeze of lime juice. Feel free to get creative with your toppings and add any additional ingredients you enjoy.

Flank steak tacos are a delicious and satisfying meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a weekend barbecue. The rich flavor of the steak combined with the fresh and zesty toppings creates a perfect balance of flavors and textures in every bite. So next time you’re in the mood for a tasty and easy-to-make meal, try cooking up some flank steak tacos for a delicious and satisfying meal.

There are so many errors in this video. First, he trimmed out all of the fat. Flavour comes from the fat. Therefore he will need a good sauce. His fresh salsa will work but needs more fluid to make work like oil or cream. He ended cutting the meat way too thick. It should not have been cut thicker than 1cm (1/4”). 2nd his timing is way off for a medium rare steak. He stated 11 minutes over direct heat. This steak would have been well done. No more than 5 to 6 min for medium rare. Lastly, add some lettuce and sour cream and some fish sauce would explode the flavour.
