He had his eye on my lamps at the first Car Boot of 2024.

He really wanted my lamps… At First Car Boot 2024

The annual First Car Boot event in 2024 was a bustling affair, with vendors from all over the country setting up their stalls to sell a wide variety of items to eager buyers. Amongst the many stalls was mine, where I had placed a collection of unique and beautiful lamps that I had painstakingly restored and refurbished. Little did I know that one particular customer would become so enamored with my lamps.

As the day progressed, I noticed a man lingering around my stall, his eyes fixed on the lamps on display. He would pick up each lamp, inspect it carefully, and then put it back down with a thoughtful expression on his face. I could tell that he was genuinely interested in the lamps, and I knew that he was looking for something special.

After a while, the man finally approached me and asked about the lamps. He inquired about their history, their design, and the work that had gone into restoring them. I could see the passion in his eyes as he spoke about the lamps, and I knew that he was a fellow enthusiast who truly appreciated the craftsmanship that had gone into each piece.

I could also see that he was trying to negotiate a better price for the lamps, which I was initially hesitant to agree to. However, after hearing about his love for the lamps and how much they would mean to him, I decided to offer him a discount. I could see the joy on his face as he accepted my offer, and I knew that he would cherish the lamps for years to come.

As the man left my stall with his newly acquired lamps, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. It was clear that he had a genuine love for the items he had purchased, and I was glad that I could make his day a little brighter by letting go of something that meant so much to him.

The First Car Boot event in 2024 had brought us together, and it was a reminder of the joy that can come from sharing our passions with others. I was grateful for the encounter with the man who really wanted my lamps, and I knew that it was a memory that would stay with me for years to come.

I got fed up doing car boots, buyers would ask me price on items I would tell them what I wanted, they would say I can get a new for that, Id say go and try trouble with buyers is they think your giving stuff away. And nobody was aloud to look in my car or trailer if I had one.

Does the fact you don't drive have an impact on your business? I don't drive either and it always used to limit me when I resold in the past i.e. having to rely on a mate etc
