Is a UPC/GTIN Barcode Required for My Product on Amazon FBA?

If you are considering selling your products on Amazon through their Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) program, one of the key things to keep in mind is whether or not you need a UPC/GTIN barcode for your product.

A UPC (Universal Product Code) or GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) barcode is a unique identifier for your product that helps track and manage inventory. It is a series of numbers that is scanned at the point of sale to identify the product and retrieve its information from a database.

So, do you need a UPC/GTIN barcode for your product on Amazon FBA? The short answer is yes. Amazon requires all products sold through their platform to have a UPC/GTIN barcode in order to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and prevent any issues with product listings.

When setting up your product listing on Amazon, you will be asked to provide the UPC/GTIN barcode for each product. If you do not have a barcode for your product, you will need to purchase one from a legitimate source such as GS1 or a reseller.

Having a UPC/GTIN barcode for your product also helps improve the visibility and discoverability of your product on Amazon. When customers search for a specific product or category, having a unique barcode ensures that your product is accurately identified and displayed in search results.

In addition, having a UPC/GTIN barcode is essential for managing your inventory and fulfilling orders through Amazon FBA. Without a barcode, it becomes difficult to track individual products and ensure that the right product is shipped to the customer.

Overall, having a UPC/GTIN barcode for your product on Amazon FBA is crucial for ensuring smooth operations, accurate inventory management, and optimal visibility on the platform. Make sure to obtain a barcode for your product before listing it on Amazon to avoid any complications or delays in the selling process.

Why don’t you DIFFERENTIATE between selling OFF Amazon(selling on own website-using FBA to fulfill and ship orders) and selling ON Amazon! FBA is always used in error in these videos and creates unnecessary confusion

If I am drop shipping from AliExpress to Amazon where do I get the barcode? Ie clothing? Do I ask the AliExpress seller or do I just create my own. What if I don’t know if the product is sold on Amazon? I found the product on AliExpress .

hi I've just started my clothing brand and I'm planning to list my products on amazon ( such as jeans, trousers, sweatshirts etc) so do I have to get my own barcode to sell my product on amazon? because there are already 100000 of these clothing products already listed on amazon but I'm building my own brand.

Hello, I am following all your videos. Ok, so after we buy the barcode, who puts it on the product? Amazon or our manufacture? Thanks!

If we buy one barcode for a single product and then we make a pack of 12 for that particular product. Will we require a new barcode for a pack of 12?
