My Experience as a Digital Nomad in Medellin, Colombia: A 28-Day Recap with Reviews and Recommendations

In today’s digital age, the concept of being a digital nomad has become increasingly popular. With the ability to work remotely from anywhere in the world, many individuals are opting to travel and work simultaneously, exploring new destinations while maintaining a source of income. Recently, I had the opportunity to become a digital nomad in one of Latin America’s most vibrant cities- Medellin, Colombia.

For 28 days, I immersed myself in the culture and beauty of Medellin, working from coworking spaces, cafes, and even my apartment. This experience not only allowed me to enjoy the fantastic weather and stunning landscapes of the city but also provided me with a unique perspective on Colombian life and work culture.

Medellin, also known as the “City of Eternal Spring,” offers a mix of modernity and tradition, making it a popular destination for digital nomads. The city’s affordable cost of living, reliable internet connection, and welcoming local community make it an ideal spot for those looking to combine work and travel.

During my time in Medellin, I discovered some must-visit places and experiences that I would highly recommend to any digital nomad looking to visit the city. One of my favorite spots was the Comuna 13 neighborhood, a former hotspot for violence and crime that has transformed into a colorful and vibrant community filled with street art and hip cafes. I also enjoyed exploring the lush Botanical Garden, taking in the panoramic views from the Metrocable, and indulging in the local cuisine- especially the bandeja paisa, a traditional Colombian dish.

In terms of workspaces, I found Medellin to have an abundance of coworking spaces and cafes perfect for digital nomads. Some of my favorites included Selina Cowork, Atomhouse, and Pergamino Cafe, all offering comfortable working environments and a strong sense of community.

Overall, my experience as a digital nomad in Medellin was incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. The city’s vibrant culture, friendly locals, and stunning scenery made for an unforgettable month of work and exploration.
