The BEST Way To Source Items For eBay!! Online Sourcing!!
Selling on eBay can be a profitable venture if you know how to source your items effectively. Traditionally, finding products to sell on the platform involved scouring garage sales, thrift stores, or even wholesale suppliers. However, with the rise of the internet, online sourcing has quickly become the go-to method for eBay sellers to find their inventory. In this article, we will discuss the best way to source items for eBay through online sourcing.
The first step in online sourcing is to determine what type of products you want to sell on eBay. Do you want to focus on high-demand consumer electronics? Or perhaps vintage clothing and accessories? The key is to find a niche that aligns with your interests and has a market demand.
Once you have identified your niche, it’s time to start searching for suppliers and manufacturers online. There are several avenues you can explore:
1. Wholesale Directories: Online directories like Alibaba, SaleHoo, and Wholesale Central provide a list of verified wholesalers and manufacturers. These platforms allow you to explore a wide range of products and connect directly with suppliers. However, be cautious and thoroughly research any potential supplier to ensure their legitimacy.
2. Dropshipping Platforms: Dropshipping is a business model where you don’t hold inventory. Instead, you partner with a supplier who handles storage, packaging, and shipping. Platforms like Oberlo and Doba provide access to numerous dropshipping suppliers across various product categories.
3. Online Marketplaces: Websites like Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, and Amazon can be excellent sources for finding unique and hard-to-find items at competitive prices. If you invest time in researching these platforms, you might come across hidden gems that can be sold on eBay for a significant profit.
When selecting suppliers, look for those that offer competitive pricing, secure payment options, and reliable shipping methods. Additionally, read reviews and reach out to other sellers who have worked with the supplier to gauge their experience and reliability.
Another crucial aspect of online sourcing for eBay is taking advantage of search engine tools. Utilize search operators on search engines like Google to ensure you find the best deals. Use specific keywords and exclude unwanted terms to narrow down your search results. For example, searching “wholesale electronics -retail -second-hand” will filter out retail and second-hand options from your results.
To stay ahead of the competition, set up alerts for newly listed items using online marketplaces or websites like eBay itself. This will ensure you have a first-mover advantage, allowing you to snatch up potentially profitable items before others.
Moreover, don’t overlook the importance of research. Keep track of trends, hot-selling items, and price fluctuations. Tools like Terapeak or Google Trends can provide valuable insights into what buyers are currently searching for.
Lastly, never stop learning and experimenting. Attend webinars, read books, and follow industry experts and blogs to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and trends in online sourcing and eBay selling.
In conclusion, online sourcing has revolutionized the way eBay sellers find products to sell on the platform. With the right strategies and tools, it is possible to source high-quality items at competitive prices, ensuring a profitable eBay business. Remember to research suppliers, utilize search engine tools, and stay informed about market trends to stay ahead of the competition. Start exploring online sourcing today and watch your eBay business flourish!

Awesome Video and Info and YES I am interested in how to source locally! Thank you JRider! I will be subscribing to you podcast after this video!!
Great video. Really specific useful info. Here’s a question though – why would someone sell a shirt that they can sell for $15 or $20 for one dollar? You mentioned somebody might just want to get rid of it. But wouldn’t “wanting to get rid of it” indicate that they tried to get rid of it first at the price you would sell it for and couldn’t and that’s why they’re now stuck trying to get rid of it for a dollar?
BOOM! JUST LEARNED THE – TAKES OUT THINGS ON SEARCH WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE PARTS 20 YEARS.
Yes I am interested, thank you
Gixen? Look it up I have not waited for a auction to end in years. I place 50-60 bids a week and forget about it if I win I put my max bid so awesome. If I lose I don’t even remember

Just found the channel and love the content so far. We are thinking of moving to Utah. I lived in Vernal as a child and really miss it. Any suggestions on where to live in the state that would be good for picking? Are housing prices still high? Thanks everyone.

Ok I just re-subbed. This video was awesome.
Great information regarding sourcing…. would love a local sourcing vid for sure :O)
Wow thanks I bought my first lot today wish me luck ! Great information ! I shop online all time ! Lol
I don't have a lot of luck finding great prices on stuff to resell. That might be because i'm Canada though and the shipping prices are always too high on stuff to be able to get them cheap enough to resell them.
Woah! didnt know you could subtract listings from your search by literally doing the minus/negative sign… lol thanks!
I have 'BLOCKED' about 800 Ebay Buyers from buying items from my Ebay store. Anybody who is an obvious reseller/drop-shipper I block, -but I still mail them the item they purchased. I respect the game to a degree. I buy and flip stuff from Ebay as well.
The lot of items is really good I've done that a few times for video games and it turns out several successful resalers do that also. It also works out well it the lot has a good mix of titles and you know what your local game stores are looking for there have been plenty of times I've taken cheap games that might have only gotten me a dollar or two of profit but I get 4 to 7 dollars of credit from my store so I just build up the credit then cash it in on a higher dollar item I know I can get a good sale on.
Thanks for the ideas! Great content
Priceless Info! Thanks so much for uploading this. You are definitely accomplishing your goal of delivering huge value to this channel for those of us still learning. Appreciate you!
