Setting Up Your Amazon Seller Central Account in 2023: A Step-by-Step Guide

How To Set Up Your Amazon Seller Central Account 2023

Setting up an Amazon Seller Central account is crucial for anyone looking to sell products on the Amazon platform. With the massive reach and customer base that Amazon has, selling through their marketplace can greatly increase your sales and visibility. In this article, we will guide you through the steps of setting up your Amazon Seller Central account in 2023.

Step 1: Create Your Amazon Seller Account
The first step is to visit the Amazon Seller Central website and click on the “Register Now” button. You will be prompted to provide your email address and create a password for your account. If you already have an Amazon account, you can use those credentials to sign in.

Step 2: Choose the Type of Seller Account
Amazon offers two types of seller accounts: Individual and Professional. An Individual account is suitable for sellers who plan to sell fewer than 40 items per month. If you anticipate selling more than 40 items, it is recommended to choose the Professional account as it provides additional features and benefits. Select the account type that best suits your selling needs and proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Provide Business Information
In this step, you will be required to provide your business information. This includes details such as your legal business name, address, and contact information. Make sure to enter accurate information as it will be used for invoicing, tax purposes, and customer communications.

Step 4: Set Up Your Storefront
Next, you will need to create your storefront. This involves entering your brand name, uploading your logo, and choosing an attractive design for your store. Take the time to optimize your store’s appearance as it will contribute to building trust and credibility with potential customers.

Step 5: List Your Products
After setting up your storefront, it’s time to add your products to the Amazon catalog. You can either find your products in the existing catalog or create new product listings. Provide detailed and accurate descriptions, high-quality images, and competitive pricing to attract customers.

Step 6: Choose Fulfillment Options
Amazon offers different fulfillment options to sellers. You can choose to fulfill orders on your own (Merchant Fulfilled) or utilize Amazon’s fulfillment service (Fulfillment by Amazon – FBA). Consider the pros and cons of each option, such as storage fees and shipping responsibilities, before making your decision.

Step 7: Set Up Payment Methods
To receive payments from Amazon for your sales, you need to set up your payment methods. Amazon provides various options, including direct deposit, Amazon Pay, and third-party payment processors. Select the option that suits your preferences and ensure that your payment information is accurate and up to date.

Step 8: Verify Your Identity
To ensure the security of your account, Amazon will require you to verify your identity. This typically involves providing additional information such as your Social Security number or business tax ID. Follow the provided instructions to complete the verification process.

Step 9: Start Selling!
Once your Amazon Seller Central account is set up, you can start selling your products. Optimize your product listings, monitor your performance metrics, and engage with customers to increase your chances of success on the platform.

In conclusion, setting up your Amazon Seller Central account in 2023 is a straightforward process that can greatly benefit your business. By following these steps and properly optimizing your listings, you can tap into a vast customer base and boost your sales on the Amazon platform. Good luck with your selling journey!

Thanks for the video and the info. Do I need to pay taxes from the IRS if for example, I am just reselling products from Alibaba? (My status is: An Individual Seller), I don't need EIN registration number, right? Or Do I? Thanks

Thanks for the video, When I entered to register as an "individual seller", a message came up: "Please ensure your business type selection is correct. An individual sells in a private context. An individual does not sell a product to a company / charity and does not operate in a business or professional context" What does this mean?

    Hi.
I want to register an account on Amazon. I have a registered company in the UK, I also live here and I have an English business bank account.
I have a problem with obtaining a credit card in the UK, but I have one issued by a Polish bank (I come from Poland). Do you know if I can provide all the data from the UK, including the business account and the Polish credit card?

Hello Travis! This is an amazing video. I have question. I do rent a facility monthly for my business and do not have a utility bill. I do however have a rental agreement. Will the rental agreement be enough? I plan to sell cookies.

Great video Travis! Thank you so much for this!

Just a question, what if I am not from US, can I still get an EIN? I checked their site and its says that my principal business should be located in the United States or U.S. Territories.

My business is outside US, what will be my workaround in this situation?
    Thanks!!!!

Hello Travis thank you so much for the video. I’m in a sticky situation that I need advice on and hope you can help me.. so I opened up my LLC, EIN, Business bank account, and started selling up my amazon seller account with my 1st business email which was gmail. After watching your videos, since you said gmail could flag the account, I made my business email with my own domain. When I tried to remake the amazon seller account with the new email it said that there was already an existing account with my name and phone #, but i never completely 100% made the first account it was just in the process. So now my concern is amazon flagging me for a duplicate account. Should i just continue with the old, gmail, for the seller account? Or should i try to make a new account with the new email, but risk getting flagged for duplicate account?
