Step-by-Step Guide to Affiliate Marketing on a WIX Website

Affiliate marketing is a popular way for businesses to earn money by promoting products or services of other companies. It’s a great way for entrepreneurs to make money online without having to develop their own products. If you have a WIX website, affiliate marketing is a fantastic opportunity to earn some extra cash. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps of starting affiliate marketing with a WIX website.

Step 1: Choose a Niche
The first step in starting an affiliate marketing business is to choose a niche. Your niche should be a topic that you are passionate about and that has a potential market for products or services. This could be anything from health and wellness to pet care to digital marketing. Once you have chosen your niche, you can start researching affiliate programs that are relevant to your niche.

Step 2: Join Affiliate Programs
Next, you’ll need to join affiliate programs that offer products or services related to your niche. There are many affiliate programs available, from big names like Amazon and eBay to smaller, more specialized programs. Do your research and choose programs that offer products that will appeal to your target audience.

Step 3: Create Quality Content
With a WIX website, you have the flexibility to create high-quality content that will attract visitors and potential customers. Whether it’s blog posts, videos, or product reviews, it’s important to create content that is relevant and valuable to your audience. Focus on providing informative and engaging content that will drive traffic to your site and encourage visitors to click on your affiliate links.

Step 4: Add Affiliate Links to Your Website
Once you have created your content, it’s time to start adding affiliate links to your website. WIX makes it easy to add affiliate links to your site using their user-friendly interface. You can add affiliate links to your blog posts, product reviews, and other pages on your website. Just be sure to disclose to your audience that you are an affiliate and may receive compensation for any purchases made through your links.

Step 5: Promote Your Website
Now that you have set up your affiliate marketing business on your WIX website, it’s time to start promoting it. You can do this by sharing your content on social media, creating email marketing campaigns, and utilizing other digital marketing strategies to drive traffic to your site.

Step 6: Track Your Performance
Finally, it’s important to track the performance of your affiliate marketing efforts. WIX offers built-in analytics tools that allow you to monitor the performance of your website and track the success of your affiliate marketing campaigns. Use this data to make informed decisions about your marketing strategies and optimize your website for better results.

In conclusion, affiliate marketing with a WIX website is a great way to earn money online by promoting products or services from other companies. By choosing a niche, joining affiliate programs, creating quality content, adding affiliate links to your website, promoting your site, and tracking your performance, you can start a successful affiliate marketing business with your WIX website. With dedication and hard work, you can turn your passion into a profitable online business.

Hi Greg, I am Patrizia from Italy. I must say you are very good at explaining. I have some questions to ask you. I already have a domain on Site Ground because I was trying to create an affiliate site but I got lost halfway through the job and I also wanted to sell clothing and accessories so I gave it a name relevant to marketing. I then started following you and now that domain is unused but it has a name that has nothing to do with what I'm trying to create because, as you said, it's better to start with a specific niche and I chose running shoes. So my question is, should I buy another domain? Also, to apply for an Amazon affiliation, do I have to finish the blog first? I ask this because I don't think I can create posts before receiving the OK from Amazon, right? Or can I create posts first? Thank you.

Hi Greg, You showed a demo of creating a website for a particular niche "climbing shoes". What if someone wants to do affiliate marketing for multiple products that are not in the category of rock climbing shoes? Can we make a generic website and post multiple products on that?

I can honestly say this is the best tutorial I have ever watched on any subject. You are amazing. I appreciate you so much. I've been putting this off for years for fear of starting. I can't believe how much I missed. If I would have just found you sooner I'd be done with tons of sites by now. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH. I will definitely be using your link to start up my new Wix project.

I tried this a month ago, everything was finally finished and took me about the whole month to get it all up and running with amazon links. I just got an email from Amazon that said my associate affiliate program was terminated for not linking properly. I followed everything you did exactly and used the affiliate link from the amazon stripe and I was still terminated. This was after almost $300 spent on the wix site and hours upon hours of research all for nothing. Everyone beware of Amazon, they can take away the program from you for any reason at any time.. Now I'm out of the money with a landing page I don't know what to do with now. You also have to sell 3 items from that page within 120 days but takes 37 weeks to get on google.

think I have found the solution to the post not showing problem, it would appear that you have to add a blog post list by clicking on "add elements" scroll down to blog, and select post list (large); post list (side bar) once these are added to a page the blog post will appear. Would it be possible for you to do another tutorial with latest version of wix? Thanks in advance

I got as far as creating the blog, the post clicked on reviews in the category's section, clicked save and publish, but nothing showing on home page or reviews page. However, the shoe is showing in the dashboard post and categories but not on the website, has Wix changed something, or have I missed something?

As an elderly newbie entering online marketing, I found this tutorial very informative and simplified. I've been watching many videos on which platform to use for my new website and ease of use. This video was very helpful. However, since the original post date of this video, a lot has changed in techniques when it comes to creating content, like Ai. So, will you be updating this video to reflect using Ai, or how to use Ai within Wix? Also, Can I link an existing domain in Wix instead of purchasing a domain in Wix? Thank you, and God Bless.

What a great video! I appreciate every word, I would love to see how you cropped the photo of the shoe, every photo I add does the same exact thing, it cuts some of the photo off and I can't figure out how to make the photo within the frame smaller.

This is a very good, value-adding, informative step-by-step video tutorial and I find it rare for people to be this generous with their knowledge and skills.
    Thanks Greg!

    One thing though.
I think the free wix domain is acceptable to Amazon as I used my Facebook profile url to apply for the Amazon affiliate and my application got approved.
So, for beginners, you can start with whatever you have that's available, no need to spend.

The most important step is to take action. Go for it. Apply for affiliate marketing. Publish your website regardless if it's a free domain or paid. Get it live.

People don't usually look at the website if they're getting the information that they're looking for.
Right? We have all done that, so it's a legit fact.

this was Interesting. So if I want to sell products for van life it gadgets batterys colour panel ect. I don't have a main website that list all the products? Do I make a separate page for each product and have a separate domain name for each product ?

How do you add additional niche websites to you Amazon Associate account. Do you need to apply for each domain. Or can I just use the same generated site stripe link with the same Store ID for all my niche sites? Or, do I need to apply for a separate Amazon account with a different email address for each niche website?

Thank you for providing such a thorough tutorial. However, I still have another question: How crucial is it for ALL your keywords be included in your domain name? In other words, does a domain name contribute to SEO?

This is not a critique, but rather an observation. The post written for the Rock Climbing Shoe was approximately 175 words. Was this done for the sake of brevity in the tutorial, and should they still aim to be around 1000 words?

Hi Greg: Thank you every so much for all that you do for us! Just GREAT content you are making!
A few questions: would it be better or worse to widen the range of the "niche" so you can have more products on the same site? Like in your example with "rock climbing shoes" – could the site be about ALL rockclimbing gear? Like clothes, ropes, hooks etc?
    Or dont you reccomend that?
My thinking is more products on the same website.

    Appreciate your input here. 🙂
