The item I was most excited to sell from my store this month was a vintage Curious George plush that I’ve had in my inventory for a year and a half.
I always say, “If this is still available, can I pick up today/tomorrow?” Also, Facebook messenger for marketplace hasn’t been sending me notifications, so I’ve missed a lot of messages from people wanting to buy items. If I consistently check the app I can see messages right after they are sent, but otherwise I don’t get a notification on my phone. It’s weird because I still get notifications from Facebook messenger for personal conversations, just not marketplace.

Make sure your insurance for your inventory is a separate business insurance – your rental or homeowner’s insurance normally does not cover business inventory. Family member found this out the hard way. And in San Diego a separate insurance has to be purchased for flood insurance – it is not covered under a standard homeowner’s policy.

I use my phone’s keyboard text replacement shortcut: “mp” (marketplace) for items for sale and “fmp” for items for free (fortunately there’s a lot of good free items) I type in “mp”, this msg pops up immediately without having to type it all out “Hi, if still available, Please let me know best time to pick up, address and if you prefer venmo or cash. Thank you!”
