Take a Tour of a Digital Nomad Apartment in Bulgaria for Only €150/Month

Bulgaria has become a popular destination for digital nomads in recent years, thanks to its affordable cost of living, beautiful scenery, and vibrant cities. For just €150 a month, you can find a cozy apartment in Bulgaria that has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

One of the most popular cities for digital nomads in Bulgaria is Sofia, the capital and largest city in the country. Here, you can find a wide range of affordable apartments that are perfect for those working remotely. For just €150 a month, you can find a one-bedroom apartment in a central location, close to the city’s many cafes, restaurants, and coworking spaces.

Let’s take a virtual tour of a typical digital nomad apartment in Sofia that fits within this budget. As you enter the apartment, you are greeted by a modest living room with a comfortable couch, a small coffee table, and a TV. The living room also serves as a workspace, with a desk and chair positioned near the window, offering plenty of natural light and a nice view of the city streets below.

Moving into the bedroom, you’ll find a comfortable double bed, a spacious wardrobe for all your belongings, and a small bedside table. The bedroom is cozy and quiet, providing the perfect space for a good night’s sleep after a long day of work.

The apartment also includes a compact kitchen, equipped with a stove, refrigerator, and all the basic utensils and cookware you need to prepare your meals. The bathroom is simple but functional, with a shower, toilet, and sink.

While the apartment may be compact, it has everything you need for a comfortable and convenient stay in Sofia. The affordable rent allows you to save your money for exploring the city and enjoying the many attractions that Bulgaria has to offer.

If you’re a digital nomad looking for a budget-friendly destination in Europe, Bulgaria is definitely worth considering. With its affordable apartments, low cost of living, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s no wonder that more and more remote workers are choosing to make Sofia their home base. For just €150 a month, you can find a comfortable and convenient apartment that allows you to live and work in one of Europe’s most exciting and dynamic cities.

Video posted 4 years ago. Now in 2023 I'm guessing that Putin's intervention/SMO in Ukraine is being used as a pretext to jack up the price of almost everything in Bulgaria too.

What a great video, thank you so much for sharing 🙂
I have a few questions since I plan to live in Bansko for 6 months ++.

    1. Is it easy to find/buy a bicycle in Bansko?
    2. It seems so quiet, is it really? Especially in summer? Barking? Honking? The road? I need some silence 🙂
    3. Did you find this accommodation through the coworking space?

    Thanks so much! <3

I lived in Germany with a Friend years ago and thinking about relocating outside the USA but not sure exactly where. I'm not really after traveling around the world just to certain nations like China, like parts of Europe and would like to make extra money while living overseas. Maybe $1200 a month just enough to cover expenses I have savings and own 2 houses in Florida but need ideas on making money online or locally overseas not sure what action to take. Could you help me? A lot of times less is more. Growing up in the US the mindset is there is never enough of anything. Looks like a nice little spot in the world to stay for awhile. Stack some cash and move on when you get restless.

Man Kristin, you had me in tears by the end of the video. It's clearly beautiful there and it's so touching to see your appreciation for the simple life in Bulgaria. Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to visit myself. Actually, I'm considering Bulgaria for retirement.

Are apartments in Bulgaria usually furnished? and do you need a yearly lease?

You are not doing it right, always wandering like a gypsy! Keep the cheapo apartment permanently, and just travel when you have to or want to. Even if it is empty a lot of the time, how much does it really cost. And then you have the base your spirit craves. "The only true knowledge is self knowledge" – Plato

Beautiful video, but a little misleading. In Plovdiv I'm looking for apartments and there isn't much available under $600 on airBnB. Other options, like searching for "for rent" signs and contacting agencies hasn't yielded anything. Agencies are looking for longer-term renters, in some cases at least a year. And once you add various extras to their prices (commission, towels, sheets, blankets, silverware), it's no cheaper than AirBnB, and some agencies are actually more expensive. Bulgaria is not nearly as cheap as I had heard. I'm guessing that the reason you got such an amazing deal in Bansko is that you were in a ski-resort town during the off season.
