Our daily routine as a digital nomad couple is a unique and ever-changing experience. As we travel the world and work remotely, we have created a routine that allows us to balance work, exploration, and relaxation.
One of the first things we do each morning is to find a quiet café or co-working space to set up our laptops and start our workday. We prefer to start early to take advantage of the quiet morning hours and get a head start on our tasks. We typically spend the first few hours of our day checking emails, attending virtual meetings, and completing any urgent assignments.
After a few hours of focused work, we take a break to explore our current location. Whether it’s visiting a local market, hiking a nearby trail, or simply strolling through the streets, we make an effort to immerse ourselves in the culture and surroundings of each place we visit. This not only provides a necessary break from work but also allows us to gain new perspectives and experiences that often inspire our work.
By mid-afternoon, we return to our workspace to finish up any remaining tasks for the day. This is also the time when we make an effort to connect with other digital nomads or locals, whether it’s for networking, socializing, or simply asking for recommendations on the best places to eat or visit in the area.
Evenings are usually reserved for unwinding and enjoying the local cuisine. We love sampling the diverse array of foods and flavors that each destination has to offer, and we often find ourselves trying out new restaurants, street food vendors, or cooking local dishes in our temporary home.
As we wind down for the day, we take time to reflect on and plan for the next day’s activities. This could involve researching our next destination, booking accommodations, or scheduling any upcoming work meetings. We prefer to end the day early to get a good night’s sleep and prepare for the adventures that await us in the morning.
Our routine may vary depending on the location, time zone, and workload, but the flexibility of our lifestyle as digital nomads allows us to create a routine that best suits our needs and desires. It’s a lifestyle that offers the perfect balance of work and play, and we feel fortunate to have the opportunity to embrace it.

Hi Lauza and Michael. Thanks a lot for posting this video showing your daily routine. Wonderful. My wife and I have been watching your Madeira video for last few months and really appreciate all your great insights to living on Madeira. We will be visiting for three weeks in March to check out the island with a view to retiring their in early 2023. Thank you so much.
Really enjoying the daily routine vlog, interested in your healthy eating and life style. We try and walk a couple of miles when the weather permits here in Britain !!!! Our area fortunately has a low covid rate, but we are in lock down except for food shopping. We have been visiting Madeira since 1997 most years . We missed our two visits last year, hoping to return very soon. Keep up the great work. Judie.
