Thrift shopping has become a popular trend in recent years, with more and more people opting to shop at thrift stores rather than traditional retail outlets. While some may see thrift shopping as a way to save money, there are actually a multitude of reasons why people are choosing to thrift.
One of the main reasons people thrift is for sustainability. The fashion industry is known for being one of the most wasteful and polluting industries in the world. By choosing to shop at thrift stores, individuals are reducing the demand for new clothing production and ultimately reducing their carbon footprint. Thrift shopping also helps to reduce the amount of clothing that ends up in landfills, as many thrift stores accept donations of gently used items.
In addition to sustainability, thrift shopping is also a way to support local communities. Many thrift stores are operated by non-profit organizations, and their proceeds often go towards supporting various community programs and initiatives. By shopping at thrift stores, individuals are helping to support these organizations and contribute to the well-being of their local community.
Thrift shopping also provides individuals with the opportunity to find unique and one-of-a-kind items. Many thrift stores carry a wide variety of clothing, accessories, and household items, some of which may be vintage or no longer in production. This allows individuals to express their personal style and find items that they may not be able to find at traditional retail stores.
Furthermore, thrift shopping is a way to save money. With the rising cost of living and stagnant wages, many individuals are looking for ways to stretch their dollars. Thrift stores offer affordable options for those on a budget, allowing individuals to purchase quality items at a fraction of the cost.
Finally, thrift shopping can be a fun and rewarding experience. The thrill of finding a hidden gem or scoring a great deal can be incredibly satisfying. Many people enjoy the treasure hunt aspect of thrift shopping, as well as the satisfaction of knowing that they are contributing to a more sustainable and ethical way of consuming.
In conclusion, there are numerous reasons why people are choosing to thrift. From sustainability and community support to finding unique items and saving money, thrift shopping has something to offer for everyone. So the next time you’re in need of something new, consider checking out your local thrift store. You never know what gems you might find!

I’m not crying, you’re crying!! When Matt said, ‘Price doesn’t matter’ and then surprised his honey with the ring, I cried! My sweet hubby was the same way! He passed from pancreatic cancer 4 years ago. FUCK CANCER! He would’ve loved thrifting. He was a DIY’er and we’d hit every clearance sale at Hime Depot or Lowe’s.
Karm is way over priced. I have lived in knoxville for 2 years and haven't been in one in about a year
I cried when he gave you the ring too.
I want to know why I love turquoise so much too.
I was amazed when you showed the shelves at the beginning with the items you’d already listed. I wish you and Matt would do an instructional video on how you are able to list so quickly. I’d love to see your process and the tools you use.
My favorite may have been the "lafisabeach Jetson's pants." Life's a Beach!
I found the same green Dansk votive holders at an estate sale a few weeks back!
Kayla, I am a long time viewer and Matt you are great!! KARM= KNOXVILLE AREA RESCUE MISSION. They should have told you that for every $2 spent they provide one meal to a hungry person in need. (Normally saying that you provided X meals today with (that) purchase.). That’s an added plus, but they have gotten so high. Can hit good finds at times, but not necessarily for what you need for resale. They have people whose entire job is to research eBay for costs. The last one was one of the first. I was able to get full MCM sets of furniture, decor, flatware, Tupperware, and dishes for soooo cheap years ago. Depending on the area the store is in is how the pricing can go now. I’m always amazed how great your Goodwills are as opposed to ours. We do have a stamp system here that I’ve not seen with you there. For every $15 spent, they stamp a card provided. When that is full, you trade the card in for a $15 credit as long as you spend over $20 with that transaction. Hate that I didn’t touch base with you guys before you left or while you were here to give you some info and say hi! Adore both of you!
Did the wood hands already sell? I didn't see them on your eBay. The heart hands?
Matt is so sweet…my husband sneaks and buys things I look at to surprise me..he is a keeper !!!!
Every man should be like mat ❤❤❤❤❤when-he gave u the ring it was like a proposal ❤❤❤❤❤
Okay I have to ask since no one else is,(I scrolled the comments first!). Is that a friendship ring? A promise ring? Or? Just asking for a friend or thousands of viewers!❤
Make sure you don't list anything from the airbnb like the fridge maybe lol Matt getting you that ring was so lovely.
I hope that last place didn't call them a thrift store. It was more like vintage and consignment prices.
Awww
I love your Matt he is just so sweet and thoughtful.
Wow beautiful Horse.. Ok I have to ask what part of Kentucky I am originally from Ashland Grayson area
You two are perfect together!

Ok, so I just cried when he handed her that ring. There are Wonderful men out there. Not here in NC. But they do exist I see.
I love your videos! Which ebay app do you use? I have google lense , but your app seems much more informative.
Aww he's the sweetest!! U got lucky with that one ❤ Happy looks good on you!!
Matt, I must say you really had a "look" going today; especially when you pull your hoodie over your cap!
I had a gut feeling that he was going to buy the ring for you.
I'm in the UK and a lot of charity shops here put a lot of stuff on ebay before they get to the shop floor plus we have bootfairs here and there's already a lot of dealers which dont give the ordinary people who's buying for the family a chance to buy they think your a dealer even though your not sometimes im buying for the kids they can't afford much that's mostly why I go to them it don't help
My guess was $750. I want the jetsons pants.
That ring does look good on your hand! How sweet 🙂
