With so many places to choose from, it can be overwhelming to decide where to go next. To help you narrow down your choices, here are my top 5 digital nomad destinations.

1. Bali, Indonesia
Bali has been a popular destination for digital nomads for years, and for good reason. The island offers a great mix of culture, stunning landscapes, and affordable cost of living. You can find co-working spaces and cafes with high-speed internet all over Bali, making it easy to stay connected while enjoying the island life.

2. Chiang Mai, Thailand
Chiang Mai has long been a hub for digital nomads, thanks to its low cost of living, great food, and welcoming expat community. The city has a range of co-working spaces and cafes to work from, and the surrounding mountains offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures.

3. Lisbon, Portugal
With its vibrant culture, beautiful architecture, and thriving startup scene, Lisbon has become a popular destination for digital nomads in recent years. The city has a great public transportation system, making it easy to explore, and there are plenty of cafes and co-working spaces to work from.

4. Medellin, Colombia
Medellin has undergone a transformation in recent years, becoming a hotspot for digital nomads seeking a more affordable and dynamic destination. The city offers a range of co-working spaces, a lively social scene, and a mild climate year-round.

5. Tbilisi, Georgia
Tbilisi may not be as well-known as other digital nomad destinations, but it’s quickly gaining popularity thanks to its affordable cost of living, rich history, and welcoming atmosphere. The city has a growing expat community and a range of co-working spaces and cafes with reliable internet.

Chang Mai is not a country. Could you mention at least once what country are you talking about?

12,000 baht is now $400 usd so the price inflation has increased a bit. But still the best value I’ve found in the world. For 300usd per month you can get a great condo. AMAZING healthy food for low prices. And something that so much of the world is missing, a truly caring and connected community of digital nomads that will become your best friends for life!

Why is everything so focused around public spaces?

I thought the book was supposed to be as objective as possible but you're facing everything on the backdrop of your preference for coworking spaces

$45 dollars a month studio in small town in Mexico close to the beach but WiFi might not be the fastest….studio not necessarily modern ….there’s something being omitted from these places that young white guys don’t mention at all about Asia. I once met this mid 20’s American guy from the navy and he loved these places because of “minors”……there has to be a mystery…..

Come to Shanghai, not that cheap, but the business opportunity you can develop while working from here should increase the income levels. I realize it’s not your thing, but $50/h to teach English one on one, gives you a reference point.

I got news for you. I am in Bali right now. Digital nomads are considered vagrants. I suggest caution in any countries.

Whats with the 'co working' space! The whole point of quitting the office lifestyle is to be free….not go and congregate in another space!

Not to mention co working spaces should NOT be what makes a top destination for digital nomads! Should change the title to top 5 co working spaces (if you like that!)

Cool video Chris ! But it's often the same place in the top destination for digital nomad, maybe it's time to change that 😉 Have you ever been to Costa Rica ? It would be a pleasure to welcome you here, on the pacific coast. https://locoworkingcostarica.com/

Thailand and Bali are not cheap unless you don't mind eating the local food which is basically sea food or dog meat (sad but especially in the case of Bali aka the dog meat true).

I found Bangkok to be awesome. It's only slightly more expensive than Chiang Mai, but it also feels metropolitan and like you're connected with the rest of the world, and offers you a diversity of activities, sights and experiences that Chiang Mai can't match (and that few cities in Asia can match). It's more stressful and congested but some parts of the city are quieter than others. It also has great flight connections to all of Asia and to the West as well. Chiang Mai is still a great place, and in my opinion it's at the upper limit of what a city of its size can offer in terms of opportunities and activities.
