We Moved to Da Nang, Vietnam as Digital Nomads in 2024: Settling into Expat Life in Vietnam

In recent years, the rise of digital nomadism has allowed individuals to work remotely and travel the world while still earning a living. One of the most popular destinations for digital nomads is Vietnam, a country known for its vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and affordable cost of living. In 2024, my partner and I decided to make the move to Da Nang, a coastal city in central Vietnam, to experience expat life in this beautiful country.

Our decision to move to Da Nang was influenced by the city’s reputation as a hub for digital nomads, with a thriving community of like-minded individuals from around the world. The city’s modern infrastructure, high-speed internet, and affordable living costs also made it an attractive choice for us. Additionally, Da Nang’s stunning beaches, lush mountains, and rich history made it a perfect place to explore during our downtime.

After arriving in Da Nang, we were immediately struck by the warmth and hospitality of the locals. Vietnamese people are known for their friendliness and welcoming nature, and we felt right at home in our new surroundings. We quickly settled into a comfortable routine, balancing work with leisure activities such as exploring the city, trying new foods, and meeting other expats in the community.

We have also taken advantage of Da Nang’s proximity to other popular destinations in Vietnam, such as Hoi An, Hue, and the Marble Mountains, to further explore the region.

In terms of work, Da Nang has proven to be an ideal location for digital nomads. With coworking spaces, coffee shops, and reliable internet connections throughout the city, we have been able to work efficiently while enjoying the laid-back lifestyle that Vietnam offers. The low cost of living in Da Nang has also allowed us to save money and live comfortably, with affordable accommodation, transportation, and dining options available at every turn.
