We Took the Leap: Full-Time Flipping from Goodwill & Yard Sales

We Quit Our Jobs To Flip Stuff From Goodwill & Yard Sales Full-Time!

Have you ever dreamed of leaving behind the monotony of the nine-to-five grind? The idea of being your own boss and setting your own schedule is often a fantasy that many of us entertain. Well, for two enterprising individuals, Lisa and Mark, this dream became a reality as they made the bold decision to quit their jobs and become full-time flippers.

So, what exactly is flipping, you might ask? Flipping, in this context, refers to the process of buying inexpensive items from sources like Goodwill and yard sales and reselling them for a profit. It involves finding hidden gems, restoring or repurposing them, and then selling them online or at flea markets.

For Lisa and Mark, the journey began as a side hustle to supplement their income. They often found themselves visiting thrift stores on weekends, searching for valuable items. Over time, they realized that their knack for recognizing undervalued items and their skills in restoring them could potentially be much more profitable.

After carefully evaluating the market and assessing the competition, Lisa and Mark decided to take the plunge and commit to flipping full-time. With a strong background in arts and crafts, they were confident in their ability to make old, worn-out items look like new again. They also had a keen eye for discovering valuable collectibles and antiques.

As with any entrepreneurial endeavor, quitting their stable jobs was not a decision that they made lightly. They knew that it would require hard work, dedication, and an understanding of market trends. However, they were motivated by the prospect of turning their passion into a lucrative career.

With their newfound freedom, Lisa and Mark spent countless hours scouring thrift stores, estate sales, and yard sales for hidden gems. They would later spend time restoring or repurposing these items to make them more attractive to potential buyers. They quickly discovered that the key lies not only in finding valuable items but also in understanding the market demand.

The internet became their playground, as they tapped into various online platforms to sell their refurbished treasures. From eBay to Etsy, they explored every avenue available to reach a wider audience. Social media also played a crucial role in their success, as they built a loyal following who eagerly awaited their latest finds and transformations.

Their hard work and dedication soon paid off. What began as a humble side gig quickly turned into a thriving business. Lisa and Mark were able to quit their jobs and focus on flipping full-time. Today, they enjoy the freedom and flexibility of being their own bosses and determining their own success.

Flipping items from Goodwill and yard sales may not be for everyone, but Lisa and Mark’s success story serves as an inspiration to those who dare to take a leap of faith. It reminds us that with the right combination of passion, resourcefulness, and determination, we can turn our dreams into reality.

So, if you find yourself daydreaming about leaving the corporate world behind and embarking on a new adventure, take a page out of Lisa and Mark’s book. Explore your passions, evaluate market opportunities, and embrace the possibilities that await. Who knows, you may just unearth a hidden treasure that could change your life forever!

I've been selling casually on ebay for years now. With the recent change in taxes with IRS so that anything over $600 made, I'm needing a spreadsheet to keep track of sales, what we paid, shipping costs, etc… this stuff hurts my brain. Do you have a resource for this?

Hello. I'm new to reselling. Love your videos btw. Had a few questions if you don't mind answering. What do you recommend selling on Amazon vs Ebay? I see you grab a lot of sealed VHS and DVDs. Do you only sell them on Amazon and if so, is it FBA? How about unopened board games? I'm trying to figure this out and I'm watching tons of videos. Kind of confusing at times. Thanks for any info.

I literally Google in 2017 how to make a million dollars using social media. I had dabbled a little bit in eBay but I found it confusing popped up poshmark and I have not looked back. Now I sell on poshmark eBay mercari. I started literally by selling myself and my daughter's clothing. I'm a shopaholic my daughter and I had many clothes in crates stuck to my garage that I refused to sell for a dollar at a yard sale and I just kept them I started listing them in within 6 weeks I made over $4000. I'm also a SALE clearance shopper so I don't buy any lessons on sale or clearance and I doubled my money for clearance items that my daughter and I never wore! Then I said to myself OK how are people doing this to make money I did the deep dive it took a year to learn the brands to learn how to sell what to look for how to find items. I now am in Florida I'm a substitute teacher I drive 1 or 2 days a week for doordash and I Do re selling! Since 2017 and even taking about a year off I've made over 70000K profit as a side hustle! It's doable and it's definitely doable to turn it into a full time job. But it is a lot of work and you gotta know what you're looking for but if you follow people like these 2 and other resellers you can learn your craft but you've got to be dedicated! But it is rewarding

Great words, I wish I would have gotten into reselling years ago but now I'm trying to build it up as a 50/50 income for my retirement years. Early retirement in 6 years! Wish me luck!

Hey! At the 7 17 point in the video, did you get the planter with the plant? That planter might be a fiberglass Russell Woodard piece, very high dollar. I can't really tell in the video.
