Why I Chose This Over Dropshipping

Dropshipping has become a popular way for individuals to start an online business with minimal upfront costs. The concept is simple – you sell products on a website without having to hold any inventory. When a customer makes a purchase, you then order the item from a third-party supplier who ships it directly to the customer. Sounds easy, right?

I started my dropshipping business a few years ago, eager to make a quick buck without having to invest in a large inventory or deal with the hassles of shipping and handling. At first, things went well. I was able to set up a website, find suppliers, and start making sales. But as time went on, I realized that dropshipping wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.

Firstly, I found that competition in the dropshipping market was fierce. With so many people jumping on the bandwagon, it was becoming increasingly difficult to stand out and make consistent sales. I also found that the profit margins were much lower than I had anticipated. With so many middlemen involved in the process, it was hard to make a decent profit on each sale.

But perhaps the biggest issue I faced with dropshipping was the lack of control over the quality of the products. Since I wasn’t handling the inventory myself, I had no way of ensuring that the items being shipped to my customers were of good quality. This led to a number of dissatisfied customers and negative reviews, which ultimately hurt my business in the long run.

After much contemplation, I decided to stop dropshipping and focus on a different business model instead. I wanted more control over the products I was selling and the customer experience I was providing. That’s when I discovered the world of print-on-demand services.

With print-on-demand, I could create my own designs for t-shirts, mugs, phone cases, and more, and have them printed and shipped directly to the customer when they made a purchase. This allowed me to have complete control over the quality of the products and the overall customer experience. I could also create unique and customized products that set me apart from the competition.

Since making the switch to print-on-demand, my business has seen a significant increase in sales and customer satisfaction. I no longer have to worry about unreliable suppliers or low profit margins. Instead, I can focus on creating unique and high-quality products that resonate with my target audience.

In conclusion, while dropshipping may work for some people, it wasn’t the right fit for me. I found that print-on-demand offered me more control, better profit margins, and a more satisfying overall business experience. If you’re considering starting an online business, I would encourage you to explore different business models and find what works best for you. Who knows, you might just find that stopping dropshipping leads you to something even better!

Yea….and as soon as you have a hot product Amazon sells it themselves against you (fulfilled by Amazon) or they white label the same product (Amazon Essentials) and also sell against you. You think Amazon is going to let you get rich on their marketing a distribution dime? hahaha…
